If any of the above concerns sound familiar, I can help!  I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and I specialize in couples counseling, trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, and women’s issues.  I am deeply committed to fostering an environment of growth, healing, and discovery for individuals and couples navigating life’s complex challenges. With a foundational belief in the transformative power of therapy, I bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic process, merging the wisdom of Christian principles with the rigor of evidence-based practices.  For those who desire it, I can integrate Christian counseling into the sessions.

My Approach as a Therapist

For couples, I use the Gottman Method which is a scientific-based marital therapy system that provides practical tools to improve communication, enhance emotional/physical intimacy, and effectively resolve conflicts. In individual therapy, I utilize evidence-based methods such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). This is all rooted in compassionate Christian principles.

I believe that healing is not just about addressing the mind but also nurturing the spirit and the body. This holistic approach enables me to support clients in a way that respects their values and beliefs while also making use of the best practices in mental health care. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and find paths to healing and wholeness that align with their faith and personal values.

Therapy Education and Experience

My formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Bible & Counseling Psychology from Kentucky Christian University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. These programs equipped me with the skills to integrate Christian principles with contemporary counseling theories, techniques, and skills, laying the groundwork for my specialized therapeutic approach.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience working in outpatient community mental health settings with men, women, and couples, focusing on a range of issues from anxiety, PTSD, relational issues, depression, and women’s issues.  My work has spanned various settings, including residential and intensive outpatient programs as well as faith-based organizations, where I have provided crisis pregnancy support, post-abortion counseling, and trauma therapy.
