Dr. Nick Bach – Psychologist
Therapy in Louisville, KY
If you are feeling stressed, depressed, anxious, isolated, lonely, or helpless at home, in your marriage, at work, or with other relationships then you’ve come to the right place. As a Psychologist, I have been trained to help people solve those problems so they can have a better quality of life. Additionally, I specialize in Marriage Counseling (premarital and marital) and Christian Counseling.
Marriage Counseling & Couples Counseling
I am passionate about helping couples heal and reconcile broken relationships. It is definitely possible to bring your relationship back from the brink of disaster to a place of healthy love, connection, and intimacy. My research interest has focused on couples and relationships, but I gain the most energy from working with a couple face-to-face to restore intimacy and friendship that were lost long ago. For more information about how I approach couples therapy then check out the Couples and Marriage Counseling page.
Christian Counseling
For those who desire it, I integrate Biblical principles with sound therapeutic techniques to incorporate faith and Christian practices into the healing process. My knowledge of mental health and spiritual issues has allowed me to integrate both disciplines into a comprehensive approach that addresses the mind, body, and soul. I am a current member of the American Association for Christian Counselors (AACC) For how I approach Christian counseling, please check out the Christian Counseling page.
My Education and Approach to Therapy
I use a variety of techniques including the Gottman Method, Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Christian Counseling. I received both my Master of Arts in Psychology (M.A.) and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degrees from Spalding University in Louisville, KY.
Currently, I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and owner of Grace Psychological Services, but I have worked in a variety of settings, including a residential treatment facility, a community mental health clinic, a college counseling center, the public school system, an active duty Army post, and the Veteran’s Administration.
These are my educational achievements and therapy styles, but science has shown that the best therapy outcomes are caused primarily by one thing: fit. If you feel a strong alliance with your therapist, if you like him, if he “gets you” – you have a greater chance of success. My goal is to work hard to get to know you and understand your life and your perspective. My active, direct approach balanced with empathy and humor helps couples and individuals tackle barriers they’ve been unable to solve on their own.
I have been married since 2008 and am the proud father of two children. I was born and raised in Kentucky; a U.S. Navy veteran; and I’m a Bible-believing Christian. When I’m not doing therapy, you’ll find me playing with my kids, reading, involved in church activities, or working out. If you think that I might be a good fit for you and you live in the Louisville, KY area, then schedule an appointment with me today!
